Warsaw, Krakow, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania
DAY 1 – ARRIVAL WARSAW
Arrive Warsaw where you will be greeted at the airport by our guide who will take you to the selected centrally located hotel in Warsaw. Enjoy a three-hour introductory tour of Warsaw. It will include transfers and the very best of the city: the charming Old Town painstakingly rebuilt from scratch after WW II, the busy downtown, the elegant Royal Route and Łazienki Royal Gardens. Overnight in Warsaw. Recommended activities: viewing terrace on the 31st Floor of the Palace of Culture and Science or visit one of the following museums: Warsaw Uprising, Fryderyk Chopin Museum
DAY 2 – WARSAW – CZESTOCHOWA – KRAKOW
Morning: After breakfast, drive to Czestochowa for visit to the sanctuary of our Lady of Czestochowa – Jasna Gora. Afternoon: Departure towards Krakow. Arrival in Krakow, check in in the designated hotel. In the evening we propose a short stroll with the guide in the historic city of Krakow.
DAY 3 – KRAKOW – AUSCHWITZ – KRAKOV
A full day private tour with your personal, English speaking guide. We begin our tour of Krakow starting with a visit to the Gothic Royal Castle and Cathedral remodeled in the beginning of the 16th century according to the new Renaissance style. After the capital was moved to Warsaw in 1596, the importance of the town declined but Polish Kings were still crowned and buried here. Later we drive to the old town, where we see the ancient Market square and Cloth Hall built before 1349, and later altered in the 16th century. Inside the hall are many shopping stalls. Later we visit St. Mary’s church, where we see the wooden altar by Wit Stwosz. We have some free time for lunch.
Afternoon visit to the Holocaust Museum in Auschwitz I which has unfortunately become a grim symbol of our civilization as well as the less frequently visited Auschwitz II – Birkenau, the extermination camp itself. Return to Krakow. Free evening at disposal. Overnight in Krakow.
DAY 4 – KRAKOW – WADIWICE – VIENNA
Breakfast early in the morning and departure towards Wadowice, visit the museum house of Pope John Paul the II. Continue to Vienna, Austria. Stop on the way for lunch. Arriving in the evening, check in and accommodation with dinner included in a centrally located hotel in Vienne.
DAY 5 – VIENNA
After breakfast, departure for a sightseeing tour of the Imperial city of Vienna. Through the tour, we will gain an overall impression of the most significant historical sights of Vienna. Our local guide will show us the Ringstrasse with its magnificent buildings, such as the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Natural History, the City Hall, the Hofburg and the Parliament
We visit the landmark St. Stephen’s Cathedral in the heart of Vienna. Visit of the Schönbrunn Palace , Visit Empress Sisi’s former summer residence. Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the imperial family, is one of Europe’s most impressive Baroque palace complexes. Dinner. Return to hotel for overnight.
DAY 6 – VIENNA BRATISLAVA BUDAPEST
After breakfast, we will leave Vienna and Austria , to Slovakia Capital Bratislava . City tour visiting the charming
squares, courtyards and narrow lanes of the Old Town includes the Main Square, Old Town Hall, Primate’s Palace, St. Michael’s Gate, Franciscan church, first Hungarian University Academy, Istropolitana, St. Martin’s Cathedral, the Opera House and the other most significant historical sights. We then travel for Hungary and her spirited capital, Budapest, the “Paris of the East”. The Danube River runs right down the middle of this capital city with the Buda side to the West and the Pest side to the East of the river. Dinner . Return to hotel for overnight.
DAY 7– BUDAPEST: VISIT OF THE CITY
After breakfast, this morning our visit to the twin cities of Buda and Pest includes views of the Parliament, the Gellért Hill, where we view a fantastic panorama of the city, the Royal Palace and a visit to the
13th century Church of Matthias. The Castle District in Buda is the ancient kernel of the capital’s right-bank settlement. Everything that surrounds it was once only suburbs. From whatever direction you reach the Castle District, you cross the ramparts which completely encircle Castle Hill. The whole area within theramparts is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected as an ancient monument: the lines ofthe streets and the foundations and architectural remains of the buildings retain the atmosphere and memories of the medieval and eighteenth and nineteenth-century capital.This afternoon we continue to Pest , visit the 100-year old Great Central Market, the pantry of Budapest, where we can sample the many delicacies that the Hungarian cuisine offers , visitBasilica of St. Stephan and the Heroes Monument. Return to hotel for overnight.
Day 8 – BUDAPEST – ORADEA – SATU MARE
After breakfast, departure early in the morning ( maximum at 8:00 AM ) , crossing the boarder in Romania via Oradea. Visit the Oradea city, lunch over there also. From Oradea departure to Satu Mate. Accommodations and dinner at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 9 – SATU MARE – SIGHETUL MARMATIEI – BARSANA – CLUJ NAPOCA
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Departure to visit the Merry Cemetery from Sapanta. Lunch on the way. Visit Barsana Monastery. Departure to Cluj Napoca for accommodation and dinner in the hotel and overnight.
Day 10 – CLUJ NAPOCA – ALBA IULIA – SIBIU
After breakfast, departure early in the morning from the hotel to Turda. Visit the Salt Mine. Departure to Alba Iulia . Depending on the arrival time we will fix what the group will do first, lunch in the citadel or attending changing the guards. Visit the Cathedrals Departure to Sibiu. Check in at the hotel and time to refresh. Departure for dinner with folklore show in Sibiel village. Return back to the hotel for overnight.
Day 11 – SIBIU – SINAIA – BRASOV – POIANA BRASOV
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Walking tour in Sibiu: liar bridge, clock tower (outside) , Piata mica, Piata Mare. Departure to Sinaia. Visit Peles Castle Lunch in Sinaia. Departure to Poiana Brasov. Check in at the hotel.
Refreshing time and preparing for dinner outside the hotel.Return at hotel for overnight.
Day 12 – POIANA BRASOV – BRAN – BUCHAREST
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Departure to visit Brasov city centre : Black Church ( from outside), Piata Sfatului, Sforii street. Departure for lunch in Moeciu village with carriage ride included . Departure to Bucharest
Check in at the hotel and free time for refreshing . Departure for dinner outside the hotel. After dinner, transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Day 13 – BUCHAREST – OTP AIRPORT
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Departure to visit the Parliament Palace and Village Museum. Lunch in Herastrau park. Departure to the airport with stop in Baneasa shopping centre. Transfer to the airport
